If your tacos, quesadillas, or bowls feel like they’re missing something… this is it.

This cilantro lime crema is creamy, fresh, and ridiculously easy to make. No blender, no complicated steps—just real ingredients mixed together in minutes.

We use this on quesadillas, rice bowls, and honestly anything that needs a quick flavor boost.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro (use about ½–1 cup chopped depending on bunch size)

  • 1.5 cups sour cream

  • Zest of 1 lime

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 1½ teaspoons salt (more if you like it!)

  • 1½ teaspoons black pepper (more if you like it!)

  • 1–2 teaspoons water (optional, for consistency)

QUICK NOTE

👉 Cilantro bunch sizes vary, so aim for:

  • ½ cup (milder flavor)

  • 1 cup (stronger flavor)

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Finely chop the cilantro (skip the food processor—this keeps it fresh, not mushy)

  2. Add chopped cilantro to a bowl with 1-1.5 cups sour cream

  3. Zest the lime directly into the bowl

  4. Juice the lime into the mixture

  5. Add salt and pepper

  6. Stir until fully combined

  7. Add 1–2 teaspoons of water if needed to reach your desired consistency

✔️ Done in minutes.

WHY NO FOOD PROCESSOR?

Using a food processor can make the crema watery and overly blended.

Chopping by hand keeps:

  • better texture

  • brighter flavor

  • that fresh “homemade” look
