Saucy Spoon Italian Bread Dip (Carrabba’s Dupe but Better)
If you’ve ever sat at an Italian restaurant, torn into warm bread, and immediately questioned your life choices because you didn’t make that dip at home — this one’s for you.
It’s bold, garlicky, herby, and has just the right kick of heat and salt. You can tweak it however you like — I measure this one with my heart, too — but these amounts are a solid starting point.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (use more if you want to make a bigger batch — no judgment here)
1 teaspoon pesto (or more if you like a thicker, heartier dip)
1 teaspoon minced garlic (fresh or jarred — no shame either way)
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (measure with your heart if you like spice)
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or a mix of rosemary, basil, oregano, and garlic powder)
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper (freshly ground if possible — it makes a difference)
A pinch of kosher or sea salt (kosher wins for me every time)
Instructions
Add everything to a small bowl. Mix it. Taste it. Adjust however you like - more oil if you want it smoother, more garlic if you’re feeling bold.
That’s it. Dip your warm focaccia (or literally anything bread-shaped) into it and prepare to fall in love with yourself a little bit.
Optional Upgrade
If you want a little zing, add a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette or balsamic glaze right before serving. It gives it that restaurant-level finish without the restaurant bill.
